John Dick has been a member of the Indianapolis music community for 21 years. A graduate of Butler University with a Bachelors and Masters in Piano Pedagogy, John hopes to instill a love of music in his students while creating an understanding of music and music theory along the way.
Since becoming a parent to a son and daughter, John's public performing has scaled back quite a bit. However, he still practices intensively everyday, learning new works. After all, a teacher who himself practices everyday sets a good example to his students. John is also an active accompanist, working with students for ISSMA solo and ensemble and as the accompanist for Noblesville West Middle School 6th, 7th, and 8th grade choirs as well as their show choir.
All ages are welcome to inquire about new lessons, from kindergarteners to teenagers and adults to seniors. No previous experience is necessary but some students are quite experienced. A typical lesson is 30 or 45 minutes in length, but 60 minute and 90 minute time slots are available as well for multi-student families. All potential students must meet for an interview with John before lessons may commence. An interview typically takes around 20 minutes, and there is no charge.
Tuition is a flat monthly rate based upon my time, not per lesson.
The flat monthly fee covers four lessons, and sometimes five lessons per month. Some months, typically November and December, there are three lessons per month. No matter how many lessons the student receives in any given month, the fee remains the same. No exceptions. Payment is due by the first lesson of each month.
$92/month for 30 minutes
$126/month for 45 minutes
$174month for 60 minutes
$250/month for 90 minutes
